Glee Invades New York City!

Blaine Anderson and Kurt Hummel

Broadway.com has a quick article up about Glee filming in New York City today. An excerpt is below. The full article (that contains some spoilers for the episode can be found here.

After prevailing victorious at regionals earlier this season, the Glee team learned they’d be heading to New York City for the nationals competition. While the New Direction crew’s Big Apple adventure won’t air until next month, the cast (including stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Heather Morris, Cory Monteith and Chord Overstreet) were spotted in New York on April 25 filming scenes for the upcoming episodes. Mayor Bloomberg was even on hand to greet the talented stars.

And the below video from The Associated Press includes footage of both Chris Colfer and Darren Criss!

Entertainment Weekly has a brief article on the cast in New York too: ‘Glee’ takes Manhattan—like the Muppets, but with more screaming. It includes this cute bit…

The 15-minute howdy was otherwise uneventful. Cast members (which included most of the boys, minus Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison) were in attendance for photo ops, and Heather Morris was the sole female cast member present.

Other notable bits: Darren Criss wore a “Dalton” sweatshirt. The two girls behind me at Starbucks after the event were delusional. (“He smiled at me.” “He totally remembered you.” “Well, I have a very recognizable face.”) And considering the amount of people in blue on hand, I’d say the NYPD is more than ready for Glee fever. (Okay, it also could have been for the mayor…)
